Saenai Kanojo no Sodatekata là anime nói về một thằng otaku (Tomoyo Aki), đi làm thêm để tích tiền mua BD anime. Vào một dịp tình cờ, cậu gặp được một em xinh tươi (Megumi Kato) trên đường về nhà và cuộc sống của cậu bắt đầu đảo lộn
xoay quanh Raku Ichijo, cậu ấm thủ lĩnh băng yakuza thuộc phe Shuei-Gumi (mafia Nhật) và Chitoge Kirisaki, con gái của ông chủ băng đảng giang hồ Beehive khét tiếng. Họ tình cờ gặp nhau khi Chitoge nhảy qua tường và… đạp vào mặt Raku. Giờ đây, họ buộc phải làm người yêu (GIẢ) của nhau nếu không muốn 2 băng đảng bất hòa.
